FLY-half Ceri Large and winger Lydia Thompson have won starting spots in the England side to tackle Scotland in Saturday’s Women’s Six Nations opener at Esher (2pm).
The Worcester duo have the chance to impress with a string of senior players not selected as they are involved in the Sevens World Series in Houston this weekend.
Sixways quartet Heather Fisher, Sarah Guest, Katherine Merchant and Joanne Watmore are all on Sevens duty, so miss the first round of this year’s Six Nations for the defending champions.
Warriors community rugby coach Tamara Taylor, who plays her club rugby for Lichfield, starts in the second row, while Worcester props Laura Keates and Rochelle Clark are named among the replacements. There will be a total of 10 Worcester players on international duty this weekend, including Scotland duo Tracy Balmer and Bridget Millar-Mills, who start at tighthead prop and second row respectively.
