Mullan wins Saxons start Mullan wins Saxons start

DEPARTING Warriors prop Matt Mullan has been called into the England Saxons starting line-up for tomorrow night’s clash with Scotland ‘A’ in Newcastle (8pm).

The Wasps-bound loosehead replaces Gloucester’s Nick Wood in the front row as head coach Jon Callard has kept changes to a minimum to build on the momentum established with last week’s 14-10 win against Ireland Wolfhounds in Galway.

“Matt Mullan and Jonny May are both talented players who’ve trained hard to earn the chance to show what they can do against Scotland,” said Callard.

The Saxons have trained on the all-weather surface at Druid Park this week, including a conditioned session with the Newcastle Falcons Academy.

The Scotland ‘A’ team also features two Warriors players, with Alex Grove starting at outside-centre and Nikki Walker named on the wing.

Can't blame a young lad for getting himself out of a dead end job. Most people have ambition.
