MANAGER Carl Heeley says Worcester City’s poor home form is beginning to play on the minds of his team.

City’s 2-2 draw against Vauxhall Motors means they have only won one Blue Square Bet North match at St George’s Lane since September 15.

“In all honesty, the performance wasn’t good enough to win the game,” Heeley said.

“If we’d have nicked it at the end, even though we looked more likely, it would have been a bit harsh on Vauxhall and they would have felt a bit mugged.

“At home at the moment we’re struggling for a little bit of form and some belief has gone from the boys on home soil.

“It’s a strange one because if you look at us away from home in the last few weeks we look a totally different side but we spluttered against Vauxhall.

“I’ve been in that situation as a player and it’s not the first time we’ve spluttered at home and we’ve had spells when we’ve been poor away from home.

“If we could put our finger on it we’d solve it straight away.

“We don’t do anything differently but it’s starting to play on our minds a little bit.”

He continued: “One thing I have learned is not to over emphasise it and not keep going on about it because that doesn’t help.

“We know there’s a problem but too keep emphasising it makes the problem worse sometimes.

“I don’t know what it is, we’re disappointed with our home form but we’ll keep moving on.”
