HOT-SHOT striker Danny Glover says Worcester City are due an extended unbeaten run in their push for the play-offs.

City remain firmly in the running for the Blue Square Bet North top-five but have struggled to go more than two league games without losing since September.

They have also endured a torrid time at St George’s Lane with just one win in their last five attempts.

However, last Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Vauxhall Motors, in which Glover scored twice, made it four points from a possible six, following last Tuesday’s 2-0 victory at Droylsden.

Sixth-placed Worcester will be aiming to stretch that sequence at Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday and Glover reckons they are capable of doing so.

He said: “I believe we have got the ability and I think we’re due a good run.

“If luck’s on our side I think there is a scenario where we can go nine or 10 games unbeaten.”

The striker continued: “If we keep letting our home form disrupt our season we’re not going to get anywhere and, before you know it, we’re going to be relying on other teams to lose games.

“We are doing all right but I don’t know why we can’t perform for a number of games in a row.

“We just need to keep plugging away and winning a few points otherwise we’ll be playing for nothing after the next month-and-a-half.”
