Loan signings to make Kidderminster Harriers debuts?
NEW recruits Nat Jarvis and Amari Morgan-Smith could make their debuts when Kidderminster Harriers take on Cambridge United at Aggborough tomorrow (3pm).
The strike duo arrived during the transfer window on loan from Cardiff City and Macclesfield Town respectively as Harriers sought to fill the void left by Jamille Matt.
But their chance of making an immediate appearance for their new club was put on hold with last Saturday’s trip to Newport County falling foul of the weather.
Although neither featured in Tuesday’s Worcestershire FA Senior Cup semi-final defeat to Redditch United, boss Steve Burr may opt to include them against the Us.
Harriers, who beat Telford 1-0 in their last league match, are looking to strengthen their grip on fifth spot in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
Assistant boss Gary Whild said: “Amari and Nat can play different positions across the front line and, for a club like us, it’s important you add guys who can play in one or two positions.
“We’ve never had the biggest squad but we’re hopeful the lads we have brought in live up to their potential.
“They’re two good lads. Amari is higher-profile and Nat’s been in the Conference and done well at Newport so we’re happy to get them both in.
“It’s difficult to compare anyone to Jamille but we’re just looking to bring in players who can hopefully help themselves and the lads here to go on and finish as high as possible.”
Former Gillingham player Danny Jackman featured against Redditch in mid-week, while fellow midfielder James Vincent, who has been struggling with a knee injury, also figured.
Whild added: “The main thing for us is, hopefully, we’ve got no more injuries and that those who had them have benefited from time on the pitch.”
