A 5-3 WIN at St John’s saw Goodrest Juniors lift themselves into third place in the Worcester and District Football League Sunday Division One.

Tom Malone scored twice with their other goals coming from Simon Busby, Matt Hunt and Scott Cummings.

Heenans consolidated their place in second with a 9-2 drubbing of Colwall St James. George Martin netted five times with Martin Newman adding a brace.

Worcester Lynx are battling it out with Oak Apple for the Division Two crown and a Matt Clarke strike gave leaders Lynx a 1-0 victory over Northside.

Oak Apple are currently second, four points behind but with four games in hand.

They thumped Anchor Falcons 5-1 with goals from Tom Baker, Damien Spink, Dan Parsons, Luke Whittington and Sam Parsons.

In Division Three, The Bell lead the way after a 5-1 defeat of fellow title challengers Worcester Raiders.

Joe Smith hit a hat-trick with Damon Groves and Dan Westwood also on the scoresheet for the winners.

Meanwhile, Malvern Victoria beat Cutnall Green 4-1 with Andy Lancett (2), Dave Jones and Andy Nolan on target for the Vic. Mitch Probert replied for the Green.

Greg Lord bagged a brace for Hylton Road Rovers who moved to the top of Division Four thanks to a 3-0 home win over Pillar of Salt Korono.

Holders Upton Snodsbury are through to the semi-finals of the Katherine Rayer Cup after Dave Aldington and Danny James were on target in their 2-1 victory at Perrywood.

Powick Reserves hammered Droitwich Spa Eagles Reserves 9-1 in their Bernard Finnegan Cup quarter-final. Sam Rathbone cracked a treble and Lee Henderson a double.

Also through are Brewers Athletic who won 2-1 at Clifton Rovers with goals from Simon Lock and James McKee.

The Saturday League Division Two match at Katy O’Ryans had to be abandoned before half-time, when five of the home team were sent off against Malvern Hills. The score was 0-0 at the time.

In the Martley Cup quarter-finals, Worcester Raiders were taken to extra-time by lower-graded Foregate before eventually running out 5-3 winners. Anthony Smith notched a double for Raiders.

The Railway Train also went through with a 4-3 victory over Worcester Anchors as Joel Carrington scored twice for The Railway Train.
