Harriers striker Morgan-Smith in racial abuse claim Harriers striker Morgan-Smith in racial abuse claim

KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have reported an incident of racial abuse to police after claims striker Amari Morgan-Smith was targeted by the away support.

The 23-year-old, on loan from Macclesfield Town, alleged on Twitter that he had been subject to racial abuse from the Alfreton end during his side’s 3-1 victory at Aggborough last Saturday.

He tweeted: “So was racially abused today when will this stuff stop! A little downer after a good win.”

Harriers have acted on the complaint and both West Mercia Police and the Football Association have been informed, with both clubs co-operating with enquiries.

Kidderminster have also urged any witnesses to contact the club or police by calling PC Stockton on 0300 3333000 (ext 3946).

A club statement said: “Kidderminster Harriers has a long and proud tradition as a family club and strongly enforces a zero-tolerance policy on racism and indeed all forms of abuse.

“Behaviour of this type from any fan attending matches at Aggborough as a Harriers supporter or a visiting spectator is wholly unacceptable.”

Kidderminster are back in Blue Square Bet Premier action tomorrow night as they head to Nuneaton Town (7.45) aiming for a sixth successive victory. Steve Burr’s side are now just two points behind leaders Wrexham in second place but have played a game more.

However, Harriers have missed out on the signature of former Birmingham City striker Dele Adebola after he joined title rivals Wrexham on loan from Rochdale.
