MATT Smith says Oldham Athletic have what it takes to cause another major FA Cup upset against Everton tonight and reach the quarter-finals.

The former Littleton striker scored a stoppage-time equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw against the Premier League giants 10 days ago and set up the fifth round replay at Goodison Park (ITV1, 7.45pm).

Smith also netted twice against Everton’s Merseyside rivals Liverpool in the previous round and is gunning for more glory, with Wigan Athletic awaiting the winners.

He said: “It’s a big occasion but it’s important we play the game and not the occasion. We are really fired up for it because we know a place in the quarter-finals is waiting. We are focused and excited and genuinely believe we can do it.”

The 23-year-old added: “I want to try and make my mark on the game, whether that be scoring or creating a goal. I want to make my presence felt and I am excited about it.”
