Luke Graham in top 10 aim for Hereford United
A TOP 10 finish in the Blue Square Bet Premier is achievable for Hereford United, according to captain Luke Graham.
Following wins at Stockport County (3-2) and Cambridge United (3-1), the Bulls climbed to seventh in the table and they look to cement that position at home to Nuneaton today (3pm).
Hereford yesterday bolstered their hopes with the loan signing of Stockport club skipper Joe Connor, a 27-year-old midfielder or defender, for a month.
They also extended the loan of Fulham’s James Musa into a third and final month.
Although reaching the play-offs would appear to be a long shot — they are 11 points behind fifth-placed Newport County — Graham reckons a high finish would set them up well for next season.
He said: “Having risen in the table, I feel we are more than capable of finishing in the top 10.
“Personally, I haven’t finished outside of the top 10 for years and won’t settle for a limp over the finish line.
“We are paid to enter a competition and I want us to compete and get as many points as possible.
“As a player, you want to be as high as you can in the league. You want to finish the season on a high and give the fans optimism for next season.
“I honestly believe if we keep the nucleus of players we have and add wisely we will have a great chance of the play-offs next season.”
