Hereford United manager Foyle says his need to improve
MANAGER Martin Foyle says Hereford United will have to improve if they are to stand a chance of beating Newport County in tonight’s Blue Square Bet Premier derby at Edgar Street (7.45).
The Bulls are seventh in the table after taking seven points from their last three games but were held to a goalless draw by relegation-threatened Nuneaton Town last Saturday.
Fourth-placed Newport are in the mix for the title and will provide a stern test of Hereford’s credentials.
Foyle said: “I was disappointed on Saturday, it was a poor game. However, we played poorly but we didn’t lose so there are one or two good things but we certainly need to be better if we want to take on the bigger clubs in this league.”
Foyle, who was due to assess the fitness of a several players this morning, added: “It’s a night game and a local derby so I think the ingredients are there for a good game. I just hope we don’t get involved in anything off the ball.”
