Hereford United 0 Peterborough United 0.

HEREFORD were thwarted in their efforts to move up from 10th place in the League Two table by a number of good saves from Posh goalkeeper Mark Tyler.

The Bulls made three changes from the side which beat Port Vale in the FA Cup on Saturday with on-loan midfielders John Eustace and Neil MacKenzie returning to the side.

Stuart Fleetwood was also restored to the line-up with Andy Ferrell, Luke Webb and Andy Williams dropping to the bench.

It was Hereford who posed the early threat with Tamika Mkandawire flicking a ninth minute header from Eustace's corner wide.

Four minutes later, Fleetwood found himself in the clear but shot too close to Tyler who was able to save at the expense of a corner.

Then a dangerous cross from Alex Jeannin was sliced over his own bar by Ben Futcher as the Bulls continued to threaten the Posh goal.

Fleetwood also set up Eustace for a shot but the midfielder's low drive was well-saved by Tyler.

After the break, it was the home side who continued to have the better of the attacking.

Fine work by Rob Purdie and Alan Connell set up a good shooting chance for Fleetwood, who blazed wide from 10 yards.

Connell and Purdie were again involved in the build-up for Hereford's best chance on 74 minutes when they worked an opening for Eustace, whose shot drew a fine save.

With Hereford continuing to shade the play, Dean Beckwith was unlucky to see a header from a Eustace free-kick deflected inches wide.

Hereford: Brown; Mkandawire, Gulliver, Beckwith; Purdie, Eus-tace, MacKenzie, Jeannin; Connell (Webb, 78 min); Sills, Fleetwood (Williams, 67 min). Subs not used: Thompson, Ferrell, Travis.

Attendance: 2,309.
