Gloucester City 2 Worcester City 1
Updated 10:05pm Tuesday 20th August 2013 in Sport By Steve Carley - Midlands Sports Journalist of the Year 2013, @stevecarleyWN
This live event has finished
- Carl Heeley's side looking to bounce back from Altrincham defeat.
- Former Worcester full-back Tyler Weir now with the Tigers.
- 1-0: Hutchison OG 14 mins.
- 2-0: Wilson 52 mins.
- 2-1: G Williams 58 mins.
Time running out for City.
Sub. City 90+7 mins: Ahley Walker replaces Danny Glover.
Sub. Gloucester 90+6 mins: Ryan Batten on for Matt Groves.
Sub. Gloucester 90+2 mins: Sam Turl on for Wilson.
There will be eight extra minutes to play following the earlier chaos.
Aaron Williams hits the post from just outside the box.
Hutchison slips at the back, Wilson nips in but he fires wide under pressure from Munday.
Sub. City 86 mins: Danny Williams for Luke Hubbins.
Tyler Weir drills a shot wide.
City 83 mins: Ebby Nelson-Addy for a foul on Hogg.
City pressing for a second, Glover fires wide from the edge of the box.
The game has certainly livened up now.
The players have now returned to the field.
Carl Heeley has called his players over. Is he taking them off? I have no idea.
The players and managers have now chased each other down the tunnel. Total madness here at Whaddon Road.
Gloucester 68 mins: Coupe is off too.
Shabir has another go at Coupe on his way off.
City 67 mins: Shabir is sent off for his part in that incident.
Coupe and Shabir are squaring up to each other. They clashed off the ball but then Shabir appeared to push Coupe who went down very easily.
Sub. Gloucester 64 mins: Daren Mullings on for Darren Edwards.
City 58 mins: Luke Hubbins gets in a cross from the left and George Williams powers a header beyond Green into the far corner.
City free kick on the edge of the box is driven into Hamblin by Glover and, in the aftermath, Munday hacks the ball over.
Sub. City 54 mins: Ebby Nelson-Addy for Ashley Sammons.
Hogg drives the free kick about a foot over the bar. Worcester living dangerously here.
City 53 mins: Hutchison for foul on Hogg.
Gloucester 52 mins: The hosts attack down the left and Wilson is allowed to get into the box and loft the ball over Sargeant.
Thorley with the free kick, Munday meets it with a powerful header but Green gathers before Glover can pounce.
Gloucester 51 mins: Wilson for kicking the ball away.
Tigers skipper Matt Coupe misjudged the flight of the ball but Aaron Williams fails to capitalise.
No changes for either side but hopefully there will be a change in the quality of the match.
Worcester finishing the half strongly with their best passage of play.
We're into stoppage time now. No indication but I'd say at least two minutes.
The attendance has been given as 566.
City have suddenly found a new lease of life and they have a pother corner. Deeney takes it but nobody can get on the end of it.
Munday forces his way into the six ya box and his effort is saved by Green.
Shabir does really well to dispossess Wilson in the area as the hosts seek a second.
City 37 mins: Munday. He made two lunges in a matter of seconds so it could have been for either of them. The first was on Wilson, the second on Tom Hamblin.
City 33 mins: Shabir for persistent fouling.
City take a quick free kick, Thorley plays the ball to Seeney but he wastes the crossing opportunity.
Sargeant is back on his feet and should be ok to continue. No need for sub keeper Deale Chamberlain.
Play wasn't stopped with the keeper on the floor but Wilson fired wide.
Hogg's free kick is punched away by Sargeant but he's gone done hurt.
This is really scrappy at the moment. Neither side can string any play of note together.
Hutchison loses the ball in defence but Darren Edwas can't take advantage for the Tigers.
Glover's cross is plucked out of the air from under the bar by Green.
Gloucester 14 mins: Scott Wilson fires the ball across the six yard box and Graham Hutchison turns the ball past his own keeper. That would have been a half decent finish for a striker. Not quite sure what the defender was thinking there.
Lewis Hogg swings in a free kick, Munday clears but the ball comes out to Matt Groves who draws a save from Matt Sargeant.
Deeney playing a bit deeper now so it could be more of a flexible 4-3-3.
It looks like Tom Thorley and Ashley Sammons are sitting deep in midfield with Ellis Deeney, Danny Glover, Luke Hubbins and Aaron Williams in an attacking diamond ahead of them.
Worcester win an early corner. Tom Thorley with it from the left, Richard Munday meets it and his header is saved in the line by Mike Green. Danny Glover's rebound is straight at a defender.
The teams are out, City wearing their new away kit. For the fashion conscious among you, it is still green and white but the white trim is more pronounced.
Striker Daniel Nti has failed to recover from a knee injury so misses out.
Shabir Khan comes in at left-back and Ellis Deeney is pushed forward into midfield.
New signing Jake Heath is among the substitutes and Tyler Weir starts for the hosts.
Gloucester City: M J Green, M F Green, Weir, Coupe, Harris, Webb, Hogg, Hamblin, Edwards, Wilson, Groves. Subs: Mullings, Rawlings, Edge, Batten, Turley.
Worcester City: Sargeant, G Williams, Shabir, Thorley, Hutchison, Munday, Hubbins, Sammons, A Williams, Glover, Deeney. Subs: Nelson-Addy, Walker, Heath, D Williams, Chamberlain.
Referee: Michael D'Aguilar.
