Belief will grow among us — Heeley

MANAGER Carl Heeley says the goalless draw at Brackley is proof Worcester City are improving with every game.
City picked up their first point of the season by holding one of the favourites for promotion on their own patch.
Heeley said: “I’ve been delighted with our performances in the first two games but there were a few things that were causing us problems like switching off and lapses of concentration.
“The players have listened and learned, improved and we got at least what we deserved.
“It was comfortable, in the last 10 minutes I certainly wasn’t thinking we were hanging on.
“I thought if anybody was going to go and win it we looked the more likely side and I don’t think anybody would disagree with that.”
He continued: “Myself, John Snape and Matt Gardiner have been around for a long time and are vastly experienced so we know what it takes to win games and we’ve got that belief.
“Sometimes you have to just keep working slowly when putting that across to the young boys but they’ve got to believe it because they can go and trouble the best sides and we saw that against Brackley and Altrincham.
"They will grow in belief as the season goes on and we’ve just got to manage them the correct way and they will definitely get better.”
Striker Danny Glover added: “I felt we battled well.
“When you come to places like this you don’t often get a point.
“They slow the game and are very direct but I thought the boys at the back especially dealt with it well.
“On the way down, myself and Tom Thorley were praying we would get our first point but we didn’t expect to so we’re really happy.”
