WORCESTER City travel to Boston United tomorrow (3pm) looking to enjoy more success at the home of the Pilgrims.

Although City still seek their first win of the season, York Street has been a happy hunting ground in recent times, with Carl Heeley’s side having won three of their previous four visits.

Goals from Matt Breeze and Alex Meechan, in one of only six appearances for the club, earned a 2-1 victory last season, while in the 2011-12 campaign Michael Taylor, Mike Symons and Matt Birley were on target as City won 3-2.

Worcester also recorded a memorable FA Cup victory in Lincolnshire in September 2010, when Danny Glover’s last-gasp strike sealed a 3-2 triumph, although the league meeting at York Street that season ended in a 1-0 defeat.

Boston, however, have made a solid start to this campaign with Bank Holiday Monday’s 3-0 reverse at North Ferriby United their only defeat to date.

Prior to that, Dennis Greene’s side beat relegated Stockport County 4-1 before a 1-1 home draw against Tel-ford United and a 2-0 victory over newly-promoted Leamington.

City manager Heeley said: “Recently we have had some good results up there but Boston have started the season really well.

“They had a setback at North Ferriby but, by all accounts, they are a big, strong, physical side and organised. Few teams that will go there and win so it’s another tough game and Boston have strengthened considerably. It’s been a really tough start for us.”

Worcester followed last Saturday’s 0-0 stalemate at Brackley with a 2-2 Bank Holiday Monday draw against Hednesford.

Winger Luke Hubbins (knee) and left-back Shabir Khan (back) missed the Hednesford match but could be involved tomorrow.

Meanwhile, summer signing Sam Smith is recovering following a knee operation and it is hoped the centre-half will return to training “in two to three weeks”.

Midfielder Jake Heath, who joined Worcester on a one- month loan from Walsall, has returned to the League One club.

Worcester believe the teenager is too similar to personnel already in the squad.
