Heeley: That is what we can do

WORCESTER City’s demolition of Workington shows just what the team are capable of, says manager Carl Heeley.
The Blue and Whites recorded their first Skrill North win of the season in emphatic style at Aggborough with two goals from Ethan Moore and one each for Exodus Geohaghon and Danny Glover in a 4-0 triumph.
It lifted City out of the bottom three and made it three games unbeaten ahead of tomorrow’s trip to AFC Telford United.
Heeley was impressed with all departments of the side and believes they had been threatening to produce such a performance for a while.
“We said we would win games and I think anybody who has seen all of our games this season knows that’s been coming for a long time and it could have happened on three or four occasions before Saturday,” he said.
“It’s for everybody with the club. As a management team we have to try and sign and select the best players and get the tactics right to give them the best opportunity of winning games.
“Supporters come and watch us every week and they like to see us win. I’m pleased because from the first week of July we’ve been working hard and have felt a bit hard done to that we haven’t got the results that the performances warranted.
“You can’t give sloppy goals away, you’ve got to take your opportunities and we haven’t done that enough.
“It all came together on Saturday and I think we’ve seen the capabilities of the side come shining through.”
The Worcester boss continued: “We were solid defensively, worked the keeper and took our chances and that’s the result.
“We were on the front foot from the first whistle and we took the initiative. We were the home side and Workington were never allowed to get into the game, they couldn’t get into their stride.”
Moore’s brace took his goals tally to three in two games, following his late penalty against Gainsborough Trinity, and four in total.
Heeley said: “Ethan’s a goalscorer and he’s done well. He’s not a straight forward kid but we can have a little bit of flexibility with him if he keeps knocking the ball in the back of the net.”
