Extra class proved crucial says captain Thorley

CAPTAIN Tom Thorley felt Worcester City’s extra quality made the difference in their FA Cup third qualifying round replay victory at Rugby Town.
Having drawn the original tie 0-0 at Aggborough last Saturday, Carl Heeley’s side advanced with two goals in seven second-half minutes at Butlin Road.
Danny Glover fired home the opener, after keeper Niall Cooper had parried his first effort, before Thorley doubled the lead from the penalty spot following Rugby skipper Alex Gudger’s foul on Glover.
The City skipper said: “They’re a good side with a lot of attacking flair and we had to grind out for 90 minutes on Saturday and the first 45 minutes was a challenge on Tuesday.
“Then I think in the second-half our class and quality showed. The boys’ fitness came through and the difference was we took our chances and that killed the game a little bit.”
“Lincoln were in the back of our minds but we had to concentrate on Rugby Town and it’s good that we can now look forward to that game.
“They’re a big club themselves but we will go into very confident of causing an upset. It will be a great day for the fans as well as the players and hopefully we can progress.”
