Carrot of a big draw is there in FA Cup clash

WORCESTER City taking on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup — just imagine it for a second.
Such a thought has probably never crossed the minds of supporters, with the teams poles apart on every level.
With Wolves currently plying their trade in League One, following relegation from the Championship, they are the team everyone will want when the first round proper draw is made on Sunday lunchtime.
Although Worcester still have the small matter of a fourth qualifying round match against Skrill Premier side Lincoln City at Aggborough to negotiate on Saturday, such a future scenario can’t have escaped their notice.
If it’s not Wolves, there is always possible match-ups with Sheffield United, Coventry, Bradford or Preston, not to mention League Two Cheltenham Town, awaiting the winners.
While non-league teams still dream of reaching the third round, when the Premier League giants enter the fray, in the hope of landing that all-important huge pay day, these days the first round is just as lucrative.
Any one of the teams mentioned above has the potential to swell the bank balance considerably, and that’s on top of the £12,500 at stake against Lincoln.
Of course, I am getting ahead of myself but where’s the harm in dreaming? You never know, it might just become a reality.
