Eric’s keen to fight for his Bulls place

STRIKER Eric Odhiambo has set his sights on securing a regular place in the Hereford United team following a frustrating start to his Edgar Street career.
The 24-year-old Tanzanian joined the Bulls during pre-season but a delay waiting for international clearance after leaving Turkish side Denizlispor set him back.
He had to wait until September 21 for his first appearance for Martin Foyle’s team, as a substitute against Halifax, and is now looking to make up for lost time, starting in today’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie at Hornchurch (3pm).
Odhiambo said: “It was a very frustrating summer because I was at home every day waiting for a phonecall to tell me that I could play.
“I just wanted to play and not playing has cost me. Had I been in the manager’s plans at the start of the season, I would have played more. But the boss had been working with other players in pre-season and they know the style of play he wants.
“But I am here now and I am trying to get into the team.”
The former Inverness Caledonian Thistle player added: “Hereford is a nice place and there are a good bunch of lads at the club. It is a young team, but a team that wants to get better and there are players who are working hard.”
n Hereford reached the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup with a 5-2 victory at Atherstone Town.
