Heeley wants more goals from his City squad

MANAGER Carl Heeley accepts scoring goals is an area Worcester City need to address.
The Skrill North outfit, third from bottom in the table, are currently averaging a goal per game in the league and have scored 19 across all competitions.
Strikers Daniel Nti and Ethan Moore are the joint-top scorers with four each, while Danny Glover has three.
In comparison, only two teams in the bottom half of the division — Leamington and Harrogate — have conceded fewer than the 17 goals shipped in the league by City.
That rises to 21 following the FA Cup matches against Lincoln City but Worcester have kept a total of eight clean sheets this term.
Heeley knows they need to find the net more regularly but admits there is no easy remedy.
He said: “Just that bit of quality in the final third will make a big difference to us and at times that’s been lacking but it’s not for the want of trying.
“Scoring goals is what wins you games and that costs a lot of money. We’ve got to take a chance with these younger lads, work with them and develop them because we can’t afford to go out and spend money to get 30-goals-a-season strikers.”
He added: “We’ll keep plugging away, we’re not despondent. It’s a tough task but when you’ve got a group of willing lads who give everything it’s a lot easier to spend the time working with them.”
