ANDREAS Schreiber has seen his efforts for Worcester Wolves recognised with a place in the British Basketball League team of the week.

The 6ft 10ins Swedish international centre has proved a valuable asset to the team since making the switch from Plymouth Raiders in October.

Often playing second fiddle to Will Creekmore, Schreiber was handed his chance against Surrey Unite last Friday in the illness-enforced absence of the American.

Schreiber, included in the BBL’s prestigious quintet for the first time as a Worcester player, registered a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds in the 101-79 triumph.

The 26-year-old also made four steals and blocked two shots during the contest at the University Arena and will be hoping to make a similar impact in tonight’s home match against London Lions (7.30).

He is joined in the team of the week by Cheshire Phoenix duo Reggie Middleton and Dominique Coleman, as well as Paul Gause from Newcastle Eagles and Shane Walker of Plymouth.
