  • WORCESTER Warriors are in Amlin Challenge Cup action against pool one leaders Sale Sharks at the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford tonight (8pm).
  • Dean Ryan's men have managed just three points from their four group games to date and cannot qualify for the knockout stages, while Sale will be going all-out to win the pool ahead of second-placed Biarritz.

Thoughts are with Paul Warwick after what looked to be a serious injury - wishing him a speedy recovery.

Warriors lose the ball forward from the line-out and there goes the full-time whistle.

Sale 21-3 Warriors

Thirty second to go and Warriors put another penalty to touch in the corner.

A late penalty for Warriors and Mieres drills the ball to touch on the 22.

Sale will finish the game with 14 men as Tuitupou is yellow-carded for a deliberate knock-on as Warriors look to run from deep.

Jonny Arr has now slotted in at full-back in Warwick's absence.

After the injury-enforced delay, there are still 15 minutes to play here.

Warwick only just being carried off the field now - doesn't look too good at all for the fly-half.

Lenghty delay here as Paul Warwick is down and receiving treatment - looks like he has been loaded onto a stretcher by the medical staff.

Macleod misses the conversion.

Sale 31-3 Warriors

TRY Sale. Didn't really see what happened there, but Sale are over for their third try and it was former Worcester favourite Sam Tuitupou who scored it.

The Warriors scrum hits the deck and Nick Macleod, on for Cipriani, drills the ball to the corner, but Sale knock-on after the line-out.

Mieres has come on for Howard, so Warwick has gone to full-back. Sam Betty had replaced RDC, who had a solid game, too.

Both teams taking it in turns to give away penalties at the moment.

Sale turned the ball over on their own line and cleared to touch. Warriors went quickly, but the hosts stole the ball again and Worcester were penalised. A quick tap saw Sale burst into the Worcester 22, but they were guilty of getting in front of the ball and were hit for offside. Hectic!

Sale penalised again five metres from their line. Good pressure by Warriors now and Warwick goes to the corner again.

Chance for Warriors to hit straight back as Sale infringe on the floor after Ben Howard grabbed a loose ball and looked to break. Warwick turns down the posts to kick to touch.

The game resumes with Cipriani missing the conversion.

Sale 16-3 Warriors

Fair play to the young lock though, he has got back to his feet and looks set to continue.

Mike Williams is down injured and hasn't moved for a minute or so. Looks like he took a heavy whack making a tackle and the physios were quick to attend to him.

TRY Sale! Sammy Tuitupou hits a crash ball and breaks the line, before off-loading to Tom Brady. Warriors scramble back to keep Sale out, but the hosts recycle the ball for lock Jonathan Mills to crash over.

Matavesi and Becasseau off for Warriors at half-time. Fatiaki and Porter on.

The Amlin Challenge Cup hasn't really captured the imagination - only 3,027 here tonight.

Hold on to your comes the second-half.

Cipriani gets the game back under way.

Warriors win a late penalty as Sale fail to release Ben Howard in the tackle, but it's in the Worcester 22, so the ball is chipped out to bring half-time.

Sale 11-3 Warriors

Warriors go through phase after phase in the Sale 22, probing for a way through, but the move eventually breaks down when Max Stelling spills the ball forward.

De Carpentier breaks out of a ruck and goes for the Sale 22, but he is denied a run to the line by Cueto's covering tackle.

Cueto lucky to escape a yellow card there as he trips Jonny Arr after the scrum-half had gathered the former England winger's chip ahead.

Warwick chips the ball between the posts to open Warriors' account.

Sale 11-3 Warriors

Great scrum by Warriors, though, as they take the ball against the head, then turn on the power to force Sale up and win the penalty.

Warriors show their first real attacking intent of the game with Matavesi and Watkins both making breaks, but Sale slow the move down and eventually win the turn over with a choke-tackle.

Warwick then re-starts the game by booting the ball out on the full....

Comedy of errors from Warriors as they knock the ball on twice in quick succession, allowing Sale to burst into the visitors' 22 and then Warriors fumble forward again and give away a penalty.

Cipriani knocks the ball over.

Sale 11-0 Warriors

Warriors are definitely on the back foot here, but they are scrapping well and just about hanging on at the moment.

Powerful driving maul from the line-out sees Sale drag it down and Paul Warwick fires the penalty to touch mid-way into the hosts' half.

The Sale front row hits the deck and Henry Thomas is the man singled out for the referee for not binding correctly.

With Sale looking for a five-pointer to keep the pressure on Biarritz at the top of the pool, Cipriani shuns the posts to go for touch, but Sale make a mess of the line-out.

Schofield penalised for coming in at the side and Cipriani will have another shot at goal.

Matavesi pinged for playing the ball on the deck and Cipriani pins a fine kick to touch inside the home 22.

Nice skills from Josh Matavesi as he puts in a cute grubber kick and runs onto the ball to get in behind, but his flat pass out left to Josh Drauniniu sees the winger bundled into touch.

Cirpiani is off target with the touchline conversion.

TRY Sale! Mark Cueto dances through some non-existant Warriors tackling to set Sale on the attack. The ruck defence then goes horribly wrong as Dwayne Peel is allowed to pick up and stroll over the line down an unguarded blindside.

Sale 8-0 Warriors

Danny Cipriani makes no mistake with the routine kick.

Sale 3-0 Warriors

Jonny Arr's box-kick is charged-down and then Ben Howard knocks-on trying to gather the loose ball. Sale surge into the Worcester 22 and the hosts are penalised for going off their feet.

New shorts for John Andress!

Referee David Wilkinson stops the game to speak to number fours Dean Schofield and Jonathan Mills after a bout of handbags.

Cute pass from Peel sends Gaskell careering through the heart of Warriors' defence and Sale look set to score, but Cipriani can't hold on to the final pass.

Sale press early on but Warriors' defence holds firm and the ball is lost forward.

Paul Warwick gets the game under way and Sale win an early line-out.

Captain-for-the-night Dean Schofield leads Warriors out onto the pitch to take on the club where he spent most of his career.

Minutes away from kick-off here at the AJ Bell Stadium...

Freezing cold and raining....lovely!
