MANAGER Carl Heeley says Worcester City winning two games in a row for the first time in Skrill North this season will give them a major shot in the arm.

The Blue and Whites defeated Colwyn Bay 2-1 at the weekend to follow up their victory at Histon by the same scoreline.

Although they are still in the relegation zone, and have played more games than the teams above them, City have now won three times in their last six matches.

Tomorrow night they head to Altrincham looking to continue their revival and Heeley reckons confidence could not be higher.

“That’s the first time we’ve got back-to-back wins in the league and that, psychologically, will give us a big lift,”

He said. “We’re in the top half of the form table so it is about building a bit of momentum and the belief.

“We’ve got another incredibly tough game at Altrincham but we can go there in decent shape, certainly confidence-wise.”

He continued: “With me the players know where they stand. If they’ve not been good enough they get told and if they are they get the pats on the back and the plaudits for it.

“As much as I was critical after the Bradford defeat and we made some changes, they deserve the plaudits because they’ve been outstanding in the last two games.

“Their application has been better than it was at Bradford but we’ve got to move on from that now. We need to focus on the positives and we’ve had two great wins.”

Daniel Nti and Aaron Williams were on target against Colwyn Bay as City scored two goals in consecutive matches for the first time since November, when they beat Ramsbottom 3-0 in the FA Trophy and Stalybridge Celtic 2-1 in the league.
