GOALKEEPER Jose Veiga has sounded a word of caution against complacency to in-form Worcester City.

The Blue and Whites head to Vauxhall Motors today (3pm) looking for their fourth consecutive victory in Skrill North.

Nine points from their last three matches against Histon, Colwyn Bay and Altrincham has lifted Carl Heeley's side out of the drop zone and confidence is at a season-high among the squad.

However, Veiga is one of the squad's senior players and is aware of the pitfalls that come with being overly sure of themselves.

The 37-year-old said: "I think the lads have been fantastic, the group has been working to get results and we're doing well. We just have to keep going, that's what we have to do.

"It's a burst of confidence but we need to keep our feet on the floor. The next game is still important and there's still a long way to go.

"We have to have in mind that to get results we have to work hard and that's what we have been doing and the outcome is three wins in a row."

He continued: "We will focus on the game as we have the last three games. If we can get the three points even better but we will respect their team."

Veiga has been an integral part of City's team since joining from Tamworth at the start of the season and has played 27 matches.

His performances have provided Worcester with a solid foundation this season and he has also rescued them defeat on several occasions.

But he feels their displays in general do not reflect a side struggling at the wrong end of the table.

The Portuguese said: "Since the start of the season the team has been playing very well. The only thing was we didn't score goals, that was the difference between before and now.

"Now we are managing to score some goals and the results are coming."

Manager Carl Heeley echoes Veiga's sentiments and is not about to let his side get carried away with their achievements.

He will be expecting them to give their all once again at Rivacre Park when they take on the 14th-placed Motormen.

"There's a little bit of momentum and the confidence is high," the City boss added. "They won't be taking their foot off the pedal, they will come in and work hard.

"The Vauxhall match is another opportunity to get some more points on the board."
