WORCESTER City are determined not to let their defeat at Vauxhall Motors distract them from the business of Skrill North survival.

City’s three-match unbeaten run was ended by a controversial 1-0 loss at a rain-lashed Rivacre Park on Saturday with the visitors claiming they should have had a free-kick prior to Shaun Tuck’s winner.

They remain three points clear of the relegation zone but have now played three more games than third-from-bottom Oxford City, whose weekend match at Leamington was postponed.

But manager Carl Heeley insists his players are still full of confidence and will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host Solihull Moors tomorrow night.

He said: “We’ve got nine points out of 12. It should be 10 out of 12, with three of those games having been away from home, but we can’t let that affect our belief.

“It’s not the end of the world, we’re in there fighting and, with the character we’ve got in the side and the never-say-die attitude, we will go all the way.

“We’re disappointed but we won’t be despondent about it. We’ll move on and try and win another three games.”

City midfielder Ebby Nelson-Addy had his side’s best chance of the match but saw his second-half effort saved by keeper Zac Jones.
