HEREFORD United defender Dominic Collins says he is enjoying some of the best form of his career.
The 22-year-old centre-half has become a key figure in the Bulls' back-line, filling in for Danny Leadbitter at right-back and chipping in with three goals.
His winner in the 1-0 victory over Salisbury last Saturday was his third of the season, adding to November efforts against Southport and Halifax.
Hereford, who visit Woking on Monday (7.45pm), are also in a rich vein of form having gone unbeaten in their last five Skrill Premier matches.
"I seem to have got a little knack of scoring at the minute. I think it’s probably my best ever run to get three goals — if I can get a few more then I’ll be really happy," Collins said.
“The gaffer sometimes keeps me back for corners but Luke (Graham) and I switch at times and so the defenders don’t always know who to pick up.
"Luckily (against Salisbury) I got off my man and it finished up in the back of the net.”
Collins, who joined Hereford in the summer after being released by Chester, added: “I’m enjoying the full-back role. It’s not my natural position but I’m just happy to get on the pitch.
“Put me anywhere and I will try my best for the team — everyone in the 11 has that attitude.
“I shall keep doing my best and wherever the gaffer wants to put me I shall continue to give 100 per cent.”
Hereford's recent run has lifted them to 15th in the table, a comfortable 12 points above the relegation zone.
Collins said: “It’s nice to be looking up rather than down. If we keep winning, then you never know, we can get a bit closer to the play-offs.
“We have made Edgar Street a fortress and our home record has massively improved since last year."
