City target 40-point survival total

The Blue and Whites head to Guiseley tomorrow (3pm) aiming to keep their recent revival going with a fifth win in six matches.

City have already climbed to 17th in the table, six points above the relegation zone, and have their sights set on mid-table.

They are 11 points shy of Heeley's target but have 15 games in which to achieve it and secure their position in non-league's second tier.

Mid-week defeats for Vauxhall Motors and Histon, as well as third-from-bottom Oxford, further boosted a Worcester team who have played games than some of their rivals.

"We need to get up to the 40-point mark as soon as we can and that's the aim," the City boss said. "But we look at it one game at a time and try and get some points from the next one. We have still got 15 games left and that's 45 points to play for.

"We can be positive and if we can back up a few more wins we can start looking up the table."

City are eager to build on the 3-1 victory over Solihull Moors after seeing last Saturday's match against Stockport County called off because of a waterlogged pitch.

That postponement has allowed centre-half Jamie Grimes, who has extended his loan spell from Kidderminster Harriers until April, time to shake off a slight knock but otherwise Worcester are fit and raring to go.

Heeley said: "When you are playing well and winning games you want to play to keep the momentum going.

"The positives are we have had some good training sessions and it's given us an opportunity to get out and scout some games."

He added: "I haven't got any reason to change it too much, we have been playing well so we haven't got to fix something that's not broken.

"I am looking to add one or two players because it's not a big squad and we only need a couple of injuries and we could have an issue."

Guiseley, who drew 0-0 at Aggborough when the sides met in November, come into the match on the back of a 4-2 defeat at Telford and 1-0 reverse at Barrow.
