MANAGER Paul Collicutt says he is trying to keep his Evesham United players on their toes for when they eventually return to action.

The adverse weather is continuing to blight the football fixtures and the Robins have seen their schedule disrupted.

Their last two Calor Southern League Division One South and West matches have been postponed due to waterlogged pitches at Taunton Town on Tuesday and Swindon Supermarine last Saturday.

With conditions showing no signs of abating and the Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium surface saturated, Evesham’s home match against North Leigh tomorrow (3pm) could be hit.

But the team are still able to train and Collicutt is continuing to plan as normal in case the games get the go-ahead.

He said: “The pitch is very wet but you’ve just got to get on with it, it’s no good moaning. There’s nothing that can be done and hopefully we’ll get them ready because, all of a sudden, they’ll be moaning that they’ve got too much football.

“You’ve just got to go game-to-game and there are a lot of matches that are going to have to be fitted in over the next few months.

“But you can already say that both games are in doubt knowing what the forecast is so it’s very difficult.”
