WORCESTER City manager Carl Heeley admits bringing in new players is not an urgent priority.

However, he is still keen to bolster the squad with at least two more signings as the Skrill North outfit continue their bid for survival.

Heeley made a triple addition last month with Aaron Brown, Jamie Grimes and Kristian Ramsey-Dickson all arriving.

City, who also signed former Forest Green Rovers keeper Matt Bulman, have since embarked on their best form of the season and head into today's match against Barrow at Aggborough (3pm) aiming for a sixth win in seven matches.

Heeley wants to replace midfielder Richard Taundry, who left to join rivals Solihull Moors earlier this month, and add another attacker but is prepared to bide his time.

Versatile full-backs Tyler Weir and George Williams can both play in central midfield, while forwards Ramsey-Dickson, Aaron Williams and Danny Williams have all been on the bench of late.

Heeley has a squad of 20 players but the match-day 16 has remained constant in recent weeks.

He said: "It's not a disaster but ideally I would like to add another central midfielder and a forward. When you are winning games and haven't got any injuries, the need to do that is less pressing."

Former Walsall captain Taundry asked to leave the club after losing his place in the side to Brown, who has been instrumental in City's climb to 16th in the table.

"We changed the team around after the Bradford game and Richard was one of the players who came out, and we have won five out of six since," Heeley added.

"I was a bit disappointed he didn't wait for another opportunity because it would have come but he made it clear he wasn't happy."

City have also been running the rule over several trialists in training, including former Walsall youth-teamer Jacob Hobbis.
