MANAGER Andy Thorn says there is plenty of competition for places in his Kidderminster Harriers team as they step up their bid for the play-offs.

Harriers hope to return to action for the first time in a fortnight today when they take on Lincoln City at Sincil Bank (3pm).

Victory against the Imps could see the Aggborough club close the four-point gap on the coveted top-five places.

With the enforced break, any players with injuries should have had time to recover ahead of an increasingly busy fixture list due to the recent postponed games.

Striker Anthony Malbon has been struggling with a virus this week but he has not featured since the 2-1 defeat to Dartford on January 21.

Thorn has been able to put the players through their paces despite the weather and is pleased with the personnel at his disposal.

The Kidderminster manager said: "We have competition for places and everyone knows they need to be doing the rights things.

"I know where I want us to be, we're going to keep on the front foot and keep on moving.

"Sometimes when you've got a lot of games in a small space of time then it can be a good thing. If we can get on a roll, we will have momentum."

Although Harriers have been forced off their training facility at Stourbridge College's Chainwire Sports Ground due to the heavy rain, they have been using a 3G surface in Sutton Coldfield.

Meanwhile, Harriers are offering free travel to the final away match of the season at Halifax Town to reward loyal supporters.

To qualify, fans must travel on the club's official buses to at least six of the next seven away matches in the Skrill Premier.

Chairman Mark Serrell said: "It has been great to see so many fans travel to games, like Peterborough and Sunderland, but it is only right as well that those who travel often are rewarded in some way."
