MANAGER Martin Foyle says players giving their all is all he can ask of his Hereford United team ahead of tonight's visit of Macclesfield Town (7.45pm).
The Bulls are enduring a wretched run of results, with last Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Dartford following a 7-0 hammering at Luton and 3-0 reverse at Woking.
It has left them languishing 18th in the Skrill Premier and without a win since beating Salisbury 1-0 during their unbeaten spell in January.
Foyle felt his team played well against Dartford but a lack of goals is giving cause of concern as Hereford battle to avoid getting sucked into the relegation scrap.
He is hoping the tide will turn against Macclesfield at Edgar Street, which is also the first opportunity this month for the club to bank some much needed cash from gate receipts.
The United boss said: "We know it's difficult. I said 'just give me honest commitment' and everything like that and hopefully things will turn.
"We want fresh bodies in to give everyone a lift but we're not in a position to do that. That's very hard for us at the moment.
"Football tests you to the limit at the moment and the way the club's going everything is testing us.
"If we go and score the first goal tonight, heads will rise and I know we will go and put in a good performance. It's a delicate position at the moment.
"It's easy to criticise, there's a lot of things going on. I've just got to try and keep the boys together and hopefully they'll turn out for tonight and off we'll go again."
Kingsley James is still struggling with the groin injury that has kept him out against Dartford, while fellow midfielder Frankie Artus is still feeling the effects of a recent car crash despite playing last Saturday.
Left-back Chris Bush could return to face the Silkmen after coming on as a second-half substitute at the weekend and captain Luke Graham will be hoping to lead his side to a first clean sheet in four games.
Macclesfield, 12th in the table, are aiming for a first win in three matches following defeats to Woking (3-2) and Luton (2-1).
