WORCESTER City are determined not to get sucked back into the relegation equation tomorrow by beating Stalybridge Celtic at Aggborough (3pm).

The Blue and Whites once again find themselves looking over their shoulders following last Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Gainsborough Trinity.

It came hot on the heels of the home loss to Skrill North leaders Telford United but had more of an impact on their league position as it allowed Trinity to leapfrog them in the table.

With Stalybridge just four points below Worcester in the standings, City need a victory to keep the pressure up on their rivals.

They also want to rediscover the form that saw them pull clear of the drop-zone with five wins in six matches.

Manager Carl Heeley said: "It's an important game. There is a decent cushion (between City and the bottom three) but we have got to win some more games and beat the teams around us.

"That's something we haven't done enough of so we have got to try to improve that statistic."

Stalybridge have not won in the league since beating Histon 4-1 back on December 7 but they picked up a morale-boosting 1-1 draw at home to fourth-placed Brackley Town last Saturday.

Heeley added: "They had a good result last weekend and are a good footballing side. It's going to be another tough one but we have got to try to get back to winning ways.

"We were a little bit disappointed last weekend because we dominated the first-half and we so much better all over the park but we allowed them to get some quick goals.

"We lost the game because we didn't take our chances."

Left-back Tyler Weir is expected to return despite taking a knock against Trinity and needing to be replaced with 15 minutes to go at Northolme.

But centre-half Richard Munday is still struggling with a hand injury and won't be fit to face Celtic.

Ellis Deeney filled in against Gainsborough but could be restored to the midfield.
