WARRIORS’ injury problems continue to mount with back-rower Leonardo Senatore and winger Dean Hammond adding their names to the lengthy sick-list.

Argentina international Senatore had a game to forget in Worcester’s 21-20 defeat to Harlequins at The Stoop as he was sin-binned within a minute of coming on as a replacement, before suffering a dislocated shoulder late on.

South African import Hammond managed the full 80 minutes, but director of rugby Dean Ryan revealed after the game the youngster has torn his hamstring.

Ryan said: “We lost a couple of players on Saturday. Leonardo went off with a dislocated shoulder and Dean played the last 10 minutes with a torn hamstring.

“That was up against one of the fastest back threes I’ve ever seen, so we’re hurting a little bit.

“The boys have got a bit of time off this week – it’s the right time to get away and then we’ll throw everything at Wasps back at Sixways and see if we can get something.”

Ryan felt new signing from Leicester, Jerome Schuster, needed more time with Worcester before being pitched into action, while he also revealed prop Euan Murray joined up with Scotland’s Six Nations squad yesterday.

He added: “It’s impossible to play at this level after two days. Euan has gone off with Scotland now, that’s why Schuster is here.

“We’ve only got two tightheads and February 28 was the cut-off and no one can move after that particular window. So if I didn’t do anything we’d only be left with one tighthead.

“Schuster is frustrated at Leicester that he hasn’t got game-time and if Jerome can flourish here I’ll be delighted for him.”

On future Worcester player Sam Smith’s starring role for Quins, Ryan added: “I’m not worried about people we’ve looked at playing well against us.”
