WORCESTER City are determined to stop Barrow's surge towards the Skrill North play-offs in its tracks when the sides meet at Holker Street tomorrow (3pm).

The Cumbrians have turned their season around since the turn of the year and have a top-five finish in their sights.

They are in a rich vein of form that has seen them go 14 matches without defeat since Boxing Day and climb to ninth in the table.

But City have also enjoyed a good 2014 to date and, like Barrow, are now looking up the table rather than over their shoulders at the relegation zone.

The Blue Whites further enhanced their survival chances by putting back-to-back defeats behind them in beating Stalybridge Celtic 2-1 at Aggborough last Saturday.

Manager Carl Heeley said: "If you'd have asked anybody associated with the club for the points return we have had from the last 10 games I think they would have ripped your arm off.

"We have been going well and it was good to get back to winning ways last weekend.

"Barrow are top of the form table and have been for some time. They have got a bit of momentum so it's going to be very tough. I saw them play the other week and they are full of confidence.

"When you come up against that type of team, the longer that run goes on the more determined clubs are to try to stop that run and knock them over. That's what we are looking to do.

"We are going to try to be difficult to breakdown, as we have been for large chunks of the season."

Heeley could name an unchanged side for the trip to Cumbria after everyone came through the Stalybridge match unscathed.

New signing Wayne Thomas will be looking to build on his impressive debut against Celtic alongside Graham Hutchison in the heart of the defence.

Ryan Boot, on loan from Port Vale until the end of the season, is also set to continue in goal with Jose Veiga facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury in training.

Richard Munday is still struggling with a hand injury and centre-half Shabir Khan (hernia) is not fit despite being named on the bench as cover last weekend.
