Worcester News: Bulls in search of morale-boosting victory Bulls in search of morale-boosting victory

HEREFORD United make the long trip to Braintree tomorrow (3pm) aiming to stop a wretched run of results that have dragged them into the relegation mire.

The Bulls have lost their last five matches, scoring just one goal and conceding 16 along the way.

It is in stark contrast to when Hereford went unbeaten throughout January and Martin Foyle was named manager of the month.

United now find themselves just six points above the drop-zone ahead of a tricky looking fixture in Essex.

But defender Danny Leadbitter insists Hereford are trying to remain upbeat and believes one good result is all it will take to get them climbing the table again.

He said: “Confidence gets low in the camp after one defeat, and then there are two and three defeats. It just keeps rolling on and we need to break it.

“I’m sure that if we can get any sort of result at Braintree – a draw or a win that’s putting any sort of points on the board then that will turn everyone around in the dressing room.

“All is definitely not lost yet – put your trust in the people in that changing room because we will turn it around.”

Foyle has seen his squad further hit by injuries after keeper Rhys Evans suffered an arm injury in last Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Wrexham, with Dan Lloyd-Weston set to deputise.

Defender Rod McDonald also missed the Dragons match through sickness but could return at Braintree.

Striker Michael Rankine could be back in contention after missing the last two matches with a hamstring problem but winger Danny Pilkington (hamstring) and midfielder Joel Edwards (knee) remain long-term absentees.

Tomorrow's match at Cressing Road is the first of 18 Braintree have to play in the final seven weeks of the season due to a series of weather-related postponements.
