This live event has finished

Summary

  • SIXWAYS is poised for an evening of drama as Warriors bid to cling on to their Aviva Premiership status in a must-win clash with visiting Wasps (7.45pm).
  • Worcester desperately need to somehow pick up their first win of a dismal league campaign to give them momentum ahead of next weekend's relegation showdown at Newcastle Falcons.
  • However, tonight's contest is loaded with sub-plots as the likes of Andy Goode, Matt Mullan and Joe Carlisle are set to make their first return to Sixways since leaving the club last summer.
  • You can't help but think that Goode will have a point to prove tonight. Or maybe Carlisle, so often maligned for his interception passes when a Worcester player, could come off the bench and serve up a gift to his old team-mates.
  • Either way, it's sure to be an enthralling evening under the lights at Sixways and the Warriors faithful should create a cracking atmosphere. Whatever unfolds, you can follow all the action here.

10:26pm

Thanks for follwoing the blog on what turned out to be yet another devastating evening for Warriors.

9:43pm

Goode makes no mistake with the conversion.

A bitter blow for Warriors and they are all but relegated now.

Warriors 11-13 Wasps

9:42pm

TRY Wasps from Jake Cooper-Woolley and Andy Goode has a simple conversion to win the game......

9:41pm

Wasps think they have gone over the line with the clock dead. Time for TMO, but it looked like a try to me....

9:39pm

Seven seconds on the clock and Wasps have the put-in under the posts!!!

9:38pm

They take the quick tap, but Wasps now win the scrum put-in. Tense finale!

9:37pm

Wasps camped on Warriors line wiht 1.35 left and Wasps win a penalty.

9:33pm

Great take of Lamb's up-and-under by Symons, but Warriors are hit for holding on and Wasps clear the penalty to half-way.

9:31pm

Wasps look to get the drive on, but are guilty of crossing to hand Warriors a pressure-relieving penalty.

9:30pm

Jonny Arr's box-kick goes out on the full. Line-out Wasps 22 metres out.

9:28pm

9:23pm

Shervington over-throws his second line-out since coming on, but Andrea Masi knock Goode's poor pass forward. Another let-off for Worcester.

9:21pm

Huge from Mariano Galarza who gets up well to steal the throw-in! Wasps then give away the penalty too.

9:20pm

Jonny Arr is charged down from a line-out in the Worcester 22 and Pennell gathers the loose ball, but is penalised. Interestingly, Wasps go for the corner...

9:19pm

Lamb doesn't appear to strike the ball too well, but it goes through the posts.

Warriors 11-6 Wasps

9:18pm

Replacement hooker Carlo Festuccia collars Fatiaki with a high tackle and Warriors have a penalty on the 10m line.

9:16pm

Mike Williams is strong over the ball to win an important penalty as Wasps burst into the Warriors half. The kick is cleared to the visitors' 10m line.

Lemi has now gone off for Andy Symons.

9:13pm

Wasps come back at Worcester again, but Goode's attempted drop-goal goes wide of the target.

9:08pm

TRY Warriors! A superb break down the touch-line by David Lemi leaves the Wasps defence standing and Sam Betty follows up superbly to pick up the loose ball and touch down for a huge try! Lemi didn't look too past it there...!

Lamb misses the tough conversion.

Warriors 8-6 Wasps

8:57pm

Warriors try to batter through, but James Haskell wraps up Ravai Fatiaki in a choke tackle and wins the turn-over.

8:55pm

Good comeback from Warriors as they surge back upfield and win a kickable penalty, but Lamb opts to go to the corner. The crowd like that move!

8:53pm

A sloppy start to the second-half from Warriors as they lose their own scrum put-in and end up conceding a penalty. Goode adds the three points.

Warriors 3-6 Wasps

8:50pm

Goodey gets the second-half under way. Hopefully, it will be an improvement...

8:49pm

8:35pm

Good for distance, but just wide of the left-hand post, so we go into the break all-square.

Warriors 3-3 Wasps

8:34pm

With about a minute left of the half, Warriors' tigerish defence wins a penalty five metres into the Wasps half. Pennell having a shot at goal and this could give Warriors a big boost going into the break.

8:28pm

Lamb returns the favour with another kick out on the full.

8:27pm

Ironic jeers and chants of 'Goodey' as the Wasps fly-half kicks the ball out on the full.

8:26pm

Goode fires a penalty deep into Worcester territory to give Wasps a good attacking platform.

8:24pm

Matt Mullan evokes that famous tackle on James Hook by showing a good turn of pace to burst out of his own 22 and take play up to half-way.

8:22pm

The veteran fly-half makes no mistake.

Warriors 3-3 Wasps

8:21pm

Euan Murray is pinged for not rolling away and former Warriors Andy Goode will have the chance to level the scores.

8:16pm

Warriors drive close from the line-out, but are gradually driven back until Worcester set the drop-goal, but Lamb's effort drifts wide.

8:14pm

Jonny Arr with a big charge-down and Joe Simpson scrambles the ball into touch by the corner-flag, line-out Warriors!

8:10pm

No repeat of the superb first kick this time as the ball misses the target.

Warriors 3-0 Wasps

8:09pm

Both sides are struggling for supremacy in the scrums so far, but Worcester win the penalty this time. Similar range to before, but Pennell will be full of confidence after the first effort.

8:04pm

Great tracking along the line by Sam Betty to make a big tackle and then Jonny Arr is quickly over the ball to win the penalty. Good stuff.

8:01pm

Scrum Wasps mid-way through the Warriors half after Grove is called for a forward-pass.

7:55pm

7:54pm

Wow, what a superb hit by the full-back, who smacks the ball through the posts.

Warriors 3-0 Wasps

7:53pm

Euan Murray gets one over on ex-Warriors Matt Mullan winning a penalty at the first scrum. Pennell having a crack at goal from near half-way.

7:50pm

A bright start from Warriors as they win an early turn-over and pile pressure on Wasps with Chris Pennell going close to scoring. The move eventually breaks down though and Joe Launchbury hacks the ball clear.

7:47pm

Ryan Lamb gets us under way, Warriors attacking the empty North Stand.

7:43pm

The players are poised to take to the field and kick-off is moments away here at Sixways.

Can Warriors finally rise to the challenge? They better had or they will be all but relegated.

7:43pm

7:38pm

North Stand ticket-holders are being asked to make their way to blocks 'G' and 'H' in the East Stand to find alternative seats.

7:37pm

7:36pm

It seems as thought the cameraman who was on the gantry escaped uninjured when the platform came down. No-one else was caught up in the incident and the game will kick-off as normal.

However, the North Stand will be closed as a safety precaution and fans are being re-located to the other three stands.

7:32pm

The North Stand is being emptied at the moment due to a TV gantry collapsing behind it. No-one has been injured

6:49pm

Right, time for a quick stroll around the ground to take in the atmosphere before kick-off.

Stay tuned from 7.30pm...

6:47pm

And here's what former Sixways media man Ben Mottram predicts for tonight's game...

6:47pm

It's just over an hour until kick-off, so here's a bit of pre-match reading to settle the nerves.

Firstly, these ridiculous comments from Newcastle boss Dean Richards will not have gone un-noticed inside Sixways:

Newcastle boss stokes fires ahead of showdown with Warriors

Also, I spoke to departing lock Chris Jones this week:

Squad needs to settle down at Warriors: Chris Jones

Chris Jones to leave Warriors at end of season

6:41pm

The official team-sheets will be out imminently, but here are the line-ups that were announced by both clubs yesterday.

6:39pm
