WORCESTER Wolves are targeting a first British Basketball League victory of the season over Sheffield Sharks tonight (7.30pm).

Although Wolves defeated the Sharks on their way to winning the BBL Trophy, the South Yorkshire side have won both Championship meetings.

They won 83-64 at the English Institute of Sport, the venue's for tonight's clash, in November and 83-72 at the University Arena last month.

Worcester director of basketball Paul James said: "Sheffield have been a really tough match-up for us this season.

"They've got a lot of good players, not super stars, but they are relentless and keep coming at you. They're the one team this year that we've really struggled with and I can see the same thing happening again. It's going to be another tough game."

Sheffield have the head-to-head on Wolves but victory for Worcester tonight would strengthen their grip on second place in the table.

James added: "I like the position we're in because, while they've got the head-to-head on us, we won the important one and went on to win the Trophy. I am sure they'd rather be in our situation.

"We'd like to beat them and we've still got an opportunity to finish the league season on the same record as Newcastle so that's an incentive for the guys to play hard and not relax."
