WORCESTER City fans can have their say on the club’s future at a meeting tonight.

The club’s supporters’ trust host a fans’ forum at Worcestershire County Cricket Club’s Graeme Hick Pavilion in New Road at 7.30pm.

They will be discussing the ‘short, medium and long-term’ future of the Skrill North club as it remains in exile from the city.

Yesterday, the trust officially submitted plans to Worcester City Council for a new stadium at Perdiswell.

That will also be on the agenda but won’t be the main subject of the meeting.

Instead, the focus will be on how the club will survive between now and when any new ground is built, which could be at least two years.

Trust secretary Rob Crean said: “There won’t be any major debate on the plans themselves as we want to give people the opportunity to view the full application on the Worcester City Council website and have all the details around the application in the public domain.”

To coincide with the planning application and renewed hope of the club returning to the city, entry to Saturday’s match against Brackley at Aggborough (3pm) will be by donation.

People can pay what they want on the gate to watch Carl Heeley’s side in an attempt to boost interest in the Blue and Whites.

Vice-chairman Colin Layland said: “We hope it will bring a lot of people in. We had 300 against Barrow on a Tuesday earlier this month and you can’t survive on those type of gates.”
