WORCESTER City are determined to finish the season on a high and put an end to Boston United's play-off hopes.

The Pilgrims need to win tomorrow's match at Aggborough (3pm) and hope fifth-placed Guiseley lose against Gloucester City to finish in the top five.

City want to bounce back from East Monday's 4-0 defeat at Hednesford Town and put on a show for their fans in the final home match of the season.

Manager Carl Heeley said: "It's the last game of the season and as much as we are all ready for the end of the season, we have got one game in front of our own fans.

"There's a bit of spice about it because Boston have to beat us and I am sure they will be bringing a decent away following. It's a game to look forward to.

"It will be a good opportunity to test ourselves against one of the top sides."

He added: "Typically, if you look at an end of season game it can be like a pre-season friendly but we want to finish on a high.

"I am sure it will be a good game with a decent atmosphere."

For City, tomorrow's match, which will see the crowd segregated, marks the end of their first season at Aggborough.

It has been a difficult campaign for the Blue and Whites but, after a disappointing end to 2013, Heeley's side have been one of the form teams since the turn of the year.

Although the defeat at Hednesford bucked the trend, they are safe in Skrill North for another season.

Heeley said: "I'm pleased that we haven't got relegated because at the end of 2013 you would have struggled to find anybody supporting Worcester City who would have predicted what's happened. "Overall, I'm delighted that we've achieved our goal."

City are looking for their first victory in four matches having not won since beating Barrow 1-0 earlier this month.

Boston won the reverse fixture at York Street in August with 15-goal leading scorer Daniel Nti on target for Worcester.
