Wolves earn praise for their focus

WORCESTER Wolves co-founder Mick Donovan has praised the team for retaining their hunger for success this season.
Wolves won the British Basketball League Trophy in March but also saw their Championship aspirations falter at the same time.
However, Paul James' side have kept their focus to reach the play-off final against Newcastle Eagles at Wembley Arena on Sunday (3pm).
Donovan, who established the club 14 years ago with Roger Clarke, said: "They've been fantastic. They won the Trophy and many teams switch off once they've won a competition but Paul and the lads have been really focused.
"That is one of the most important things, that they didn't relax, they wanted more and I think the relationship with the fans was a key driving force behind that.
"We said before the play-off semi-final we'd had a really good season and making the final at Wembley Arena would turn it into a great one."
Donovan also thanked the efforts of the Wolves staff and volunteers who have been with them since 2000.
"There's nine or 10 people who've been involved with the club since the very beginning," he said. "We should pay a lot of credit to the current team but that group have worked so hard through all the different times that we've had - highs and lows.
"They are the unsung heroes and they're really important because without them we would not be here."
