  • The game is closing in on being a sell-out as fans bid to see the last top-flight rugby at Sixways for, at least, one season.
  • However, on the back of this week's announcements about fresh investment into the club, as well as the launch of a comprehensive new academy system, there is a new-found air of optimism around the ground.

Well, that's it for another season. Warriors can say goodbye to the Aviva Premiership for at least one year.

At least they bow out of the top-flight with a memorable victory over their local rivals to remember.

Worcester may be down, but they're certainly not out. There is a bright future being built at Sixways.

Warriors regain the re-start and look to attack again.

TRY Gloucester! The visitors kick a penalty to touch, but the strong breeze keeps it in play, allowing David Lemi to gather the ball. 4:19pm

Play concentrated in the middle thirs of the pitch so far this half.

4:16pm

Ryan Lamb gets the second period under way.

4:15pm

The two sides are returning to the field, should be an exciting second-half. Can Warriors pick up that long-awaited first home league win of the season?!

4:03pm

There's just two points in it at the break and the game has been a good microcosm of the two sides' entire seasons.

Warriors have been too easily broken down in defence as Gloucester's pace out wide has caused havoc.

However, Worcester are still in the game thanks to two tries from driving mauls that have taken advantage of the visitors' under-powered front-five.

4:01pm

TRY Warriors! Worcester again expose Gloucester's soft centre with a powerful line-out drive. It is just about halted, but the ball goes to Ryan Lamb who scores a try that he'll enjoy against his former club.

From the touchline, Lamb is unable to find the target.

Warriors 8-17 Gloucester

3:50pm

TRY Warriors! Semisi Taulava goes over the line as Warriors employ a powerful catch-and-drive move from the line-out.

Again, Freddie Burns can't find the target from out wide.

Warriors 0-10 Gloucester

3:31pm

TRY Gloucester! The visitors go the length of the field in some style thanks to Jonny May's searing pace.

The try comes from a Warriors break where Pennell sent Lemi down the flank, but the winger slipped a Jonny Arr opted to kick for the corner. Shane Monahan kept the ball in play and passed inside to Rob Cook and it then went on to May on his own line and he easily out-paced Josh Drauniniu and went passed Ryan Lamb as if he wasn't there to score a fine try.

Freddie Burns misses the conversion.

As well as the departing players, there is one returning as Matt Kvesic plays his first game at Sixways as a visiting player.

The Worcester academy-produced England openside made the short trip down the M5 at the end of last season. Will be interesting to see what kind of reception he gets today.

2:20pm

2:18pm

2:16pm

It appears that the vast majority of supporters are prepared to accept short-term pain in the pursuit of long-term gain, as laid out in DoR Dean Ryan's vision for the future.

Although the match itself is a dead-rubber with Worcester having been relegated when they failed to beat Saracens last weekend, there are still plenty of intriguing contests in store.
Several players will be bidding farewell to Warriors today, with hooker Ed Shervington moving on to join Wasps, while scrum-half Paul Hodgson is retiring from the game.
Former Worcester captain Dean Schofield is also leaving the club at the end of this season, among others.
