WARRIORS have responded to dropping through the Aviva Premiership trap-door by cutting season ticket prices for their Greene King IPA Championship campaign.

A top-category ‘gold’ season ticket at Sixways will cost £350 next term, while a standing pass for the year can be bought for £180. Seated tickets start from £200.

In a bid to encourage more youngsters to Sixways, Worcester will also be giving away free season tickets for under 12s with any full-priced adult ticket purchased.

Warriors’ interim chief executive Anthony Glossop said: “The Worcester side started to show great promise towards the end of last season and there is a growing sense of optimism at Sixways.

“The support of season ticket holders is very important to the club.

“We have reduced the price of tickets ahead of the new campaign to encourage supporters to join us on our journey and help us ensure the 2014-15 season is a success,” added Glossop.

A Warriors season ticket covers the home leg of the Championship semi-final, should the club qualify, but does not include a potential home match in the division’s two-legged final.

Supporters who refer a friend to buy a season ticket will receive a 25 per cent discount off their annual pass, which will be free if they can introduce four new friends.

Elsewhere in the second tier of English rugby, a seated season ticket at Bristol for the current campaign started from £180 (£135 for concessions).

As far as watching other sports in the city is concerned, a ‘premium membership’ at New Road to watch Worcestershire County Cricket Club costs £214 and includes admission to all home LV= County Championship matches and the group stages of both the Royal London One-Day Cup and the NatWest T20 Blast.

The County package also includes a free junior membership.

The cricket club also offer a T20 Blast membership for fans of the shorter format of the game which costs just £80 for admittance to the seven group games played at New Road.

Worcester City will be charging £210 for an adult season ticket next season, while they also offer a £100 option that provides 10 tickets to any Conference North home matches.

An adult ticket to watch all of Worcester Wolves’ home matches in the British Basketball League and the cup competitions would set people back £200.

Both Worcester City and Wolves offer concessions for senior citizens, while the cricket club and Warriors do not.

Warriors will announce their match-day ticket prices later this summer, but they are planning to also cut the amount fans will have to fork out now the club are playing in tier two.
