Former Hereford United manager joins Sutton United as head coach

Worcester News: Beadle will not be about next season Beadle will not be about next season

PETER Beadle won’t be manager of Hereford United next season after being appointed head coach of Sutton United.

The 42-year-old steered the Bulls to safety in the Conference Premier on the final day of the season after taking charge in the wake of Martin Foyle’s departure in March.

Earlier this week, chairman David Keyte insisted former youth team boss Beadle was in the frame for the job on a permanent basis.

According to Keyte, Beadle was one of several names under consideration by the group set to invest in the Edgar Street outfit.

But yesterday he was unveiled as head coach of Conference South side Sutton under manager Paul Doswell.

Sutton finished second in the division but slipped up in the play-off semi-finals, losing to eventually promoted Dover Athletic.

It means a new manager is also on the list of priorities for the Bulls as they continue to lurch from one crisis to the next.

On Thursday, they were served with a winding-up order by former manager Martin Foyle over unpaid monies, their third demand in 2014 – the other two coming from HM Revenues and Customs.

Keyte said any new investment would not represent a takeover of the club, who must clear their debts by the Conference annual meeting on June 7 or risk being expelled.

The Bulls chief, who has been holding talks with an unnamed group this week over pumping money into the club, said: “They expect us to continue to run the club but will certainly want to be involved.

“The real step forward will be when the money drops in and they understand the urgency of that.

“We have the taxman to pay as well as the players and staff who have been waiting. The time scale is imminent but we know we are already stretching good will.”
