WORCESTER footballer Adam Powell says signing a professional contract with Cheltenham Town is reward for years of hard work.
The 18-year-old midfielder, who grew up in Martley, has agreed a one-year deal with the League Two Robins following two years in the Whaddon Road club’s academy.
“I am absolutely buzzing,” he said. “This has been what I have been working towards for years and it’s all everyone wants to be. I hope I can repay the faith the manager has shown in me.
“I just need to learn at this stage of my career and soak it all in and then show what I can do.”
Powell, who attended Martley Primary School and Chantry High, joined Cheltenham aged 16 following a spell in the Worcester City youth ranks.
