KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Gary Whild is keen for Birmingham City’s versatile Amari’i Bell to return to Aggborough.

The manager has revealed the Conference Premier club have had positive talks about bringing the 20-year-old back on loan for the 2014-15 campaign.

Whild sees Bell as the ideal man to fill the left-back position made vacant my Mickey Demetriou’s switch to Shrewsbury.

Bell, a product of City’s youth academy, had a successful loan spell at Harriers at the end of last season.

He made eight starts and two substitute appearances, scoring goals against Cambridge United and Hyde.

Although Bell played in more advanced roles for Harriers, he made his first start at left-back against Salisbury.

With Birmingham manager Lee Clark signing Jonathan Grounds from Oldham and already having David Murphy in the position, the St Andrew’s outift are keen to send Bell out on loan to continue his development.

Whild, who is also seeking a right-back following Lee Vaughan’s departure to Cheltenham Town, said: “Amari’i is someone we like a lot, his first position is left-back and I think in that small spell at the club we saw what he was capable of.

“Talks have been very good and I believe Amari’i would be happy to return, but at this stage nothing has been agreed.

“It’s quiet at the moment but we are working hard to fill the left and right-back positions.

“We’ve already done a lot of good work with the players we’ve brought in.”

Harriers also have a relationship with Birmingham with Whild knowing Clark’s assistant Richard Beale, who was formerly academy manager at the St Andrew’s Championship club and also worked at Leamington.

Birmingham visit Aggborough for a pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 26.

Whild added: “Birmingham aren’t a team we’ve played much so hopefully it’s a game both sets of fans will come out to watch.”
