HEREFORD United Supporters’ Trust have voted overwhelmingly to boycott home games next season.

Ninety-five per cent of the group’s members have supported plans for protests against new owner Tommy Agombar.

However, it is unclear when protests will take place as the Bulls have no friendlies arranged and Edgar Street has been closed for matches by Herefordshire Council due to safety concerns.

HUST will continue with their opposition until football creditors are paid and winding-up orders settled.

The group’s vice chairman Martin Watson said: “It’s crystal clear what the feelings of the membership are.

“Tommy Agombar has only been in charge six weeks and 95 per cent of our members are deeply unhappy with him. Something has gone very wrong in those six weeks.

“We will be urging our members not to attend home games, not to take up sponsorship, advertising or any involvement in activities that benefit the football club.

“Agombar has made repeated promises to settle the debts, told us he has plenty of money to meet these demands but he has consistently refused to do so.”

HUST tried to buy the club in April but former chairman David Keyte went with Agombar.

Meanwhile, former Pegasus Juniors girls’ coach Neil Phelps has been named as assistant Hereford manager to Jon Taylor.

He has been working at United as a video analyst and his wife Laura is the Bulls’ public relations officer.

Taylor used to be assistant manager at Banbury United and has been named as Peter Beadle’s successor.

But secretary Lee Symonds has quit the Bulls after 17 years with the club.

Teenage midfielder Billy Murphy has signed for Bristol City on a free transfer.
