MIDFIELDER Elliot Kennedy was taken to hospital in a neck brace during Evesham United’s dramatic 2-0 victory at Stratford Town.

Play was suspended for 45 minutes when the Robins midfielder landed awkwardly after attempting an overhead kick with minutes of the Southern League Division One South and West match remaining.

An ambulance was called before Kennedy was stretchered off at the DCS Stadium.

Evesham were leading 1-0 at that point, thanks to Nick Stanley’s ninth-minute goal, and they completed victory upon the resumption through substitute Aaron Drake with the final kick.

Hereford United were beaten 2-1 by 10-man Redditch United at Edgar Street in the Premier Division.

Jermaine Hylton fired the visitors ahead in the 24th minute before his side were reduced to 10 men when James Mutton was shown a red card for a 63rd-minute challenge on Salvador Ramirez.

Obe Oneyeike equalised five minutes later but Jamie Spencer won it for the Reds with 10 minutes left.
