WORCESTER City face another match against the Vanarama Conference North leaders for the fourth time this season when they entertain Chorley tomorrow (3pm).

Guiseley, North Ferriby United and Barrow have all been top of the pile ahead of clashes against Carl Heeley’s side this season.

While Guiseley and Barrow both recorded 1-0 victories over the Blue and Whites, North Ferriby were knocked off their perch with a 2-1 victory for City at Aggborough two weeks ago.

Worcester will now be looking to inflict the same outcome on newly-promoted Chorley as they chase their third win in four matches following the 2-1 success over Lowestoft Town on Tuesday.

Heeley said: “I think we’ve played consistently well since the start of the season, we’ve been in every game, and the only slight criticism is we haven’t maximised the final ball into the box and taken the chances that have come our way.

“We’re starting to get a little bit of momentum and belief and if we can just hit the target on a regular basis then I think we will be a real force to be reckoned with.”

In beating Lowestoft, new recruit Sean Geddes and Daniel Nti scored City’s first goals from open play since the 1-1 draw against Tamworth on August 23.

The result lifted Heeley’s team to 13th and they will be looking to climb the ladder still further with their second home win in four days.

City will hoping Geddes can have a similar impact to the one that he made on his debut and breach a Chorley defence that has kept five clean sheets in eight games.

Captain Ellis Deeney is available as his three-match ban for his red card against Lowestoft does not start until Tuesday, September 23, meaning he will miss Worcester’s match in the FA Cup second qualifying round.

The Blue and Whites’ only injury concern is Graham Hutchison after the central defender was withdrawn during the second-half on Tuesday with a hip problem.
