REPLICATING their home form on the road is now the target for Worcester City as they head to Gainsborough Trinity tomorrow (3pm).

The Blue and Whites have made Aggborough the proverbial fortress this season, with Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Boston United stretching their unbeaten run to seven games in all competitions in the current campaign.

By contrast, however, they have failed to pick up a win or score a goal in any of their six away matches in Vanarama Conference North.

It is a record that has left them 10th in the table, level on points with ninth-placed Gainsborough but having played two games more than their Northolme opponents.

City manager Carl Heeley said: “You’ve got to do well in your home games and at the moment we can’t complain.

“We’ve got to just build on what we do at Aggborough when we play away from home.

“Sometimes it happens in football – you can’t win at home and you get results away. At the moment it’s not going for us away from home but it’s not for the want of trying. It’s going to change sometime and why not tomorrow?”

He added: “I’m struggling to think of a game where I can say we haven’t played at all well. Even at Fylde (lost 4-0), we kept going and we got beaten by a better team on the day and they had a lot of quality in the final third.

“That’s the reason we got beaten there convincingly but I still don’t think the performance was a bad one. We passed the ball well, created opportunities and as long as we keep doing that and are competitive then we’ll get more positive results than negative ones.”

Worcester’s draw against Boston has left Heeley with some selection posers ahead of the trip to Lincolnshire with Jose Veiga, Jacob Rowe and David McDermott all making cases to be retained in the side.

Keeper Veiga came in for Nathan Vaughan, who was ill, while Rowe filled in for Wayne Thomas, who has a back problem, and McDermott took the place of Nick Wright.
