MANAGER Carl Heeley praised the attitude of Daniel Nti after the striker pounced for the winning goal against Greenwich Borough.

Last season’s top-scorer found himself on the bench for the second game running but replaced Jordan Murphy in the 63rd minute and turned home the decisive goal 20 minutes later in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round clash.

“What more can you ask of a player?,” Heeley said. “He was disappointed to be left out but then he went on and won us the game. Credit to him for that because that’s a super attitude and he deserves the plaudits for it.

“Dan and Graham Hutchison have come out of the side and it’s a tough call because they’re playing well. It’s hard for me but I can only select 11 players.”

Nti’s goal came 23 minutes after Greenwich substitute Billy Bennett had brought the sides level, cancelling out Ellis Deeney’s first-half deflected effort.

Heeley said: “I thought we dominated the game possession-wise and it was a frustrating match. They gave us a tough game and we didn’t expect anything otherwise.

“It was a bit of a cheap free-kick for their goal and the lad whipped a great ball in and it dropped to one of their players.

“That can happen when there’s one goal in it but we got back in the ascendancy and fortunately we’ve nicked a winner.

“The performance doesn’t really matter and we struggled to get into any kind of rhythm — the pitch was a little bit bobbly after the Kidderminster game on Saturday and it didn’t really suit us.

“We had to work hard for the victory. We can be disappointed in how we played but it’s irrelevant and it’s just about getting through.

“From now on everything is a bonus to the club.

“It’s a real achievement for any non-league side to reach the first round proper.”
