HEREFORD United director John Edwards says the club will have no problem complying with Companies House regulations after a notice of dissolution was served on them.

The Edgar Street club have yet to file their annual return document, which was due on July 3, resulting in the notice being published in the London Gazette.

Any interested party now has three months to object to the company being struck off the register, while the club also have the same time to bring their records up to date.

Edwards said the delay was due to the amount of shareholders in the company, meaning it has taken time to supply the required information.

He added: “We are not at all concerned about it and will produce our return.

“It is just proving to be a long-winded exercise.”

Edwards and fellow director Elke Thuerlings have not been seen at Edgar Street for three months due to various business interests they have around the world.

“I speak to (chairman) Andy Lonsdale by Skype and I am watching from afar,” Edwards said.

“We are looking forward to regaining our acquaintances at the club and will be revisiting Hereford as soon as possible.

“Andy is enjoying our full support and I speak to him every day.”

If the club are dissolved as a result of insolvency, Herefordshire Council have confirmed the Edgar Street leases will revert back to them and cease.

United, who host Mangotsfield United in the FA Trophy second qualifying round today (3pm), also face the prospect of being wound up in the High Court on December 1.

They need to settle debts with their creditors before that date after last month being granted extra time to come up with the funds.

Around £1.5million is reportedly going to be ploughed into the club, with chairman Lonsdale saying, “we have investment almost secured”, but it is not known who the investor is.
